GILLIAN & DARREN | HIGHER TRAPP HOTEL | BURNLEY | AUGUST 6th 2016

I met with Gillian & Darren about 2 years ago, after their friend’s wedding, to book this great day 🙂

I met up with them again last week for their pre wedding shoot & from  there, I knew it was going to be a good wedding!

I arrived at Higher Trapp Hotel, with some dramatic skies – but as with the wedding itself, it just kept getting better & better!

I was joined today, by Viv, which always makes my life easier – not that today was going to hard work!

Gillian & her bridesmaids were just brilliant – full of joy & laughter.

Darren & the boys were pretty good too!

Certainty after the hip flask! ha

Gillian looked stunning coming down into the garden with her brother, to get married to her best friend 🙂

After the groups, we set off into the grounds of Higher Trapp, were we really didn’t need to pose these 2 love birds! ha

Some beautiful & emotional speeches followed the wedding breakfast.

Then it was time to use the gazebo, to make some stunning pics! ha 

The first dance finished the day off great, well before the hog roast completed matters anyway! 🙂

I’ve never done a full blog completely in black & white before, but as I found out, the bride, Gillian, loves black & white

pictures, I thought this was the perfect wedding to do it with 🙂

PRE WEDDING | PAMELA & JASON | RIVINGTON | CHORLEY | AUGUST 5TH 2016

Pam, is an old school friend, who got in touch with me a while ago, to shoot her son’s 1st birthday

cake smash. Not meaning to brag, but must have done a good job, as they booked me for their wedding too! ha

The wedding isn’t for a few months yet, but its hard to get these 2 together on the same day, as they’ve got busy lives & jobs 🙂

I managed to pin them down though & must say I’m happy with the results.

PRE WEDDING | GILLIAN & DARREN | HIGHER TRAPP HOTEL | BURNLEY | JULY 31ST 2016

So a day after ‘the wedding of the year!’ it was time to meet with Gillian & Darren,

for their pre wedding shoot @ their wedding venue, Higher Trapp Hotel.

I’d not seen these two for almost 2 years, since they booked me, but it was great to meet up again.

These 2 are naturals & I can’t wait for their wedding next week now! 🙂

VIVIENNE & ADAM | NEWBY HALL | RIPON | JULY 30TH 2016

 

As I’ve mentioned in these pages before, I’ve known & worked with Vivienne for a while now,

so must say, although I was quite nervous, I was honoured that i’d been asked to photograph her & Adam’s

wedding @ the wonderful Newby Hall in Ripon, Yorkshire.

As I arrived, the sun was shining & I knew we were in for a great day 🙂

The marquee was decorated beautifully, most of which, Viv had done herself 🙂

It was then time to start work ‘properly’ & get down to some bridal prep, with bride & 10 bridesmaids!!!

Not a bad view out of the window!

About 12, Adam & the groomsmen arrived & I think he was more than happy with his wedding gifts from Viv.

Back to the ladies, for Viv to get into her dress, ready for the ceremony.

Alex & Mila, Viv & Adam’s daughters, also dropped by @ this time – looking really cute!

Not sure there was a dry eye in the house, as Viv stepped out to show her bridesmaids her dress 🙂

Then it was time for the ceremony – with 10 bridesmaids walking down the isle first, Adam had an anxious wait for his beautiful bride! 🙂

Straight outside, to make the most of the beautiful weather, after the ceremony.

After letting the bride & groom have some time to mingle, it was time for a few group shots & then for a wander round the

stunning gardens of New Hall, with Viv & Adam.

We made it back, in time for the wedding breakfast – It was a rather colourful entrance for the bride & groom! 🙂

The food did look delish!!! Yum!

I managed to get the bridesmaids together, in between courses, for a few shots too!

Thean came the speeches – which were very good & very very funny! 🙂

Viv & Adam decided to go straight into their first dance, after the speeches, with bridesmaid, Lauren, singing for them 🙂

It wasn’t simply a normal first dance though, as then there were the traditional Jewish celebrations too.

The sunset was just beautiful – too beautiful to miss, so I grabbed Viv & she grabbed Adam, and out we went!

After a few more ‘celebrations (!) HA – It was time for the cake cutting 🙂

PRE WEDDING | SARAH & ROSS | CUERDEN VALLEY PARK | LEYLAND | JULY 29TH 2016

It was second time lucky today, as the first day we had planned was a washout!

However, what a day, well evening!

Sarah & Ross were great & i’m really looking forward to their big day @ Beeston Manor, in a few weeeks time.

RACHAEL & ANDY | ST MARY’S CHURCH | BEVERLEY | OAKLANDS | DRIFFIELD | JULY 16TH 2016

The day started for the guys, with a hearty breakfast, from a local pub 🙂

We then headed back to the hotel to start getting ready 🙂

Then it was off to The Royal Standard Inn, a pub about a minute away from St. Mary’s Church & also about 20 seconds

from where Rachael & Andy use to live 🙂

Then it was off to church, to wait for the bridal party –

who arrived a little differently! ha 🙂

After the ceremony @ St Mary’s Church, and the confetti outside, it was off via a local park, to Oaklands 🙂

As you can see, it was looking gorgeous, just like last year 🙂

Fun and games here too! haha

After the speeches we decided to get the wedding party outside for some group shots.

Loved the idea of the first dance outside on the last visit to Oaklands,

and I must say I wasn’t disappointed today either! 🙂

Back inside with the band playing.

A beautiful sunset followed by fireworks finished the day off perfectly 🙂

PRE WEDDING | VIVIENNE & ADAM | NEWBY HALL | RIPON | JUNE 21ST 2016

Got to be honest, I was a little nervous for this pre wedding shoot, as it was for my friend, whose a brilliant photographer

in her own right, Miss Vivienne Edge & husband to be Adam.

Newby Hall was & is such a beautiful venue though, with so many place to go, with that, and t he fact that

Vivienne can’t take a bad photo, things were never going to be all bad! 😉

MILLIE & LUKE | ST JAMES’ CHURCH | SEACROFT | THE MERCURE HOTEL | LEEDS | JUNE 4TH 2016

Today, was another day, second shooting for Viv Edge.

My dad started, as usual! ha, with the guys – who all ‘enjoyed’  a few brandy’s beforehand!

A surprise wedding car was organised for Luke by Millie, to take him to church.

Not too shabby eh – A Ferrari 612 Scaglietti 😉

A beautiful touch, in St James’ Church, were a violinist was playing to great the guests & eventually Millie too.

After the ceremony, we headed down to the Mercure Hotel, however just opposite is Golden Acre park, so we

popped into there for the bride & groom portraits 😉

By this point too, the weather was just perfect & the park was full of places we could use.

Once at the Mercure Hotel, we decided it would be a good chance to grab the group shots.

Then the speeches 🙂

Musical entertainment too!

We couldn’t not use the woods at the bottom of the hotel’s grounds, especially in gorgeous evening light 🙂

Couldn’t resist with Fiona & Andy, whose wedding we photographed last year 🙂

And finally, the first dance, followed by father, daughter dance.

However I must say, as a male, I was a bit disappointed in Luke losing the downing competition of the Jaegerbombs! haha

SOPHIE & ANTHONY | HAYBURN BARN | RICHMOND | JUNE 1ST 2016

The weather wasn’t looking too bright when I turned up to second shoot for Miss Viv Edge.

However, the venue was gorgeous, Hayburn Barn is a fairly new wedding venue in Gilling West, nr Richmond,

North Yorkshire – but I must say I approve! haha 😉

As Anthony only wanted a few pictures, we both started with a bit of bridal prep, with the beautiful, Sophie.

Then we went to meet Anthony – *caution ladies – he’s topless below! haha

Even though it was a little bit cold & quite windy – Sophie & Anthony were’n going to let that ruin their

big day, so the ceremony was still held outside – I for one, am very glad it was, as the marquee is beautiful 🙂

After the ceremony, we spend a few minutes with the bride & groom, before it started to spit.

Although the weather still wasn’t great, the rain had stopped, just enough to get the group shots done.

The it was time for the speeches 😉

The weather started to get a little bit brighter, after the speeches, so we took Sophie & Anthony outside.

By the end, the light was gorgeous 😉

Then it was back inside for the cake cut – A mahoosive cake at that!, followed by first dance.

And finally a father, daughter dance.

PHILIPA-JO & GRAHAM | FERNDALE | SHADWELL | MAY 28TH 2016

Today I was joined by Miss Vivienne Edge.

The sun was shining when we arrived @ Ferndale, Pip’s family home.

Pip & Graham were married a few days before, but today was their ‘wedding’ day 🙂

I must say the house & grounds looked amazing! Pip & family had done an amazing job! …

But 1st you had to get past this guard dog – Robyn! 😉

Pip had done pretty much everything her self, and all the little touches were brilliant.

Free beer also always helps I reckon! ha

So as Graham was still sorting things out in the morning, we both, myself & Viv were around at the house for the bridal prep.

Then it was a short walk into the garden, into a lovely little marquee, for the ‘wedding’.

Once the ceremony was finished, we had a walk around to catch some candid shots 😉

Pip & Graham didn’t want too many group shots, but we grabbed the ones they wanted & then it was time to take the

bride & groom, for their photo shoot! LOL

Its lucky that Pip’s sister’s so talented, as she played (along with Pip’s brother too) throughout the day 🙂

As well as canape’s during the day, later came the fresh fish & chip truck … And yes, it was as good as it looks!

Some (well many) candid shots were taken throughput this very lovely, relaxed wedding.

Garden games too!

Then it was time for Pip to change her dress, not necessary really for the cake cut, but for when we went just down the road,

to the bluebell fields .. And the light was gorgeous, so i’m very glad I convinced them! Ha

Later on, the wedding party had moved, as they were chasing the sun … some even decided to start a most gruesome drinking game!

A swing band, and once again Pip’s brother and sister played at night, before it was time for the bride & groom

to get up for their first dance.
